Do all keyboard and mice provide the same facilities?

All keyboards and mice fundamentally work the same way and have the same basic QWERTY key layout, with occasional variations on the shape of the Enter and Shift keys. Many modern keyboards however also provide additional functions such as “hot keys” and “multimedia keys

Hot keys allow you to work faster and with fewer mouse clicks and keystrokes. These generally require additional software and configuration, but can make it easier to quickly launch applications or access certain functions in a program.

Multimedia keys allow you to control music playback and volume; they are useful for changing tracks or muting the volume without the need to switch to the computer’s media player. If you like to multitask on your computer than this feature is a must.
